Decode a boat’s 12-character HIN to see when she was built and her model year, and who the maker’s code belongs to. Free, no account needed.

On a boat with a transom, the HIN is on the starboard (right) side of the transom, within two inches of the top; a second copy is hidden somewhere inside the boat. The title or registration should show the same number.
